Made from unfinished Red Oak, it will fit any newel post with a bottom square of 3 in. width. "L" shaped brackets attach to the newel with anchor to the floor system with wood screws. WebbThe base leaves space for air circulation and blocks water from wicking into end grain, preventing rot. Finished in an all-weather epoxy coat suitable for ACQ-treated lumber. The anchors are for nominal 4 × 4 and 6 × 6 stock; the 4 × 4 anchor requires a 1 1/4" hole saw, and the 6x6 anchor requires a 1 3/4" hole saw.
