WebbIt takes more skill to use a straight needle (you need a steadier hand), so I try to use straight needles as much as possible. This keeps my skills "sharp." It's also the more economical choice. That said, patients prefer butterflies, and as a phlebotomist I love using them! To me they are just so easy to use.
