You might get a decent one that will work OK for a while but at some point a part may fail because of poor heat treatment. Either shop for a used pre-2007 JM stamped Marlin or get a Henry. The henry's are very well made and have some of the best customer service in the business ... WebThe Henry also weighs more than the other 2 coming in at 8lbs while the Marlin and Rossi are around 6lbs. The Henry's biggest advantages is that they have are that 100% American made, have probably the best customer service around, and no manual safeties. Over time (thousands or rounds), that edge cuts a grove on the bottom of the cartridge lift mech. This causes the lifter to ride lower and lower over time. As some point it rides so low that it allows 2 rounds onto the follower causing the jam.
