WebDiethyldithiocarbamate (DDTC), a chelating agent that is a major metabolite of disulfuram, has been proposed as a potential rescue agent to reduce toxicity following high-dose cisplatin (HDCP) therapy. In the present study, we examined the pharmacologic interaction of HDCP and DDTC given as rescue therapy. WebThe cisplatin was then treated with 100 µL of (10%) DDTC in 0.1 N NaOH and incubated in a water bath at 37°C for 30 min. The resultant Pt-DDTC complex formed was extracted with chloroform by vigorous vortex of the solution mixture, and then the chloroform layer collected was evaporated under vacuum.
