WebI have a 1974, 1600 aw ft, ranch concrete slab house in Austin, Texas. Ripped up ALL the old wall to wall rugs a few years back. Some areas also has old 1970s vinyl tile with black "cutback" as the adhesive. I decided to try to remove it from the kitchen dining area first. rented a grinder and hosed it down as l scrapped it off. WebAdding a liquid chemical over the cutback adhesive is very very hard...and expensive. There are SOME very expensive self levelling compounds (SLC) that are allowed to go over MINIMAL cutback adhesive (95% has been removed...and 5% stubbornly hangs around). These same SLC products do NOT like moisture in concrete slabs.
